At Wakokoro Tea, we believe that exceptional tea begins with the people who grow it — and that preserving their craft is essential to the future of Japanese tea.
We partner directly with skilled, small-scale tea producers across Japan, from the misty hills of Uji and the sun-drenched plateaus of Shizuoka to the lush mountains of Kagoshima. These farmers are the guardians of centuries-old traditions, growing and crafting tea with deep care, precision, and pride. Through these close relationships, we ensure traceability, honest sourcing, and unmatched freshness.
But Wakokoro Tea is more than just a tea brand — it is a movement to revitalize Japan’s tea industry. As rural tea farms face aging populations, declining demand, and global competition, we aim to support sustainable growth by connecting producers directly with tea lovers around the world. Every purchase helps keep these traditions alive and supports the next generation of tea makers.
We don’t just offer authentic Japanese tea — we share the people, places, and purpose behind it.

I recommend it. It's really good, fragrant, flavorful and not bitter. I love it 💖
I really enjoyed the matcha I got from jj mart it’s very affordable and tastes great will definitely shop again soon :)
I really enjoyed this matcha it’s great if you make lattes and want a everyday matcha, $10 ( plus the shipping) for 100g of matcha is amazing I definitely would repurchase this one and try the other matcha as well!
I really like this strawberry flavored matcha, the strawberry taste isn't strong, it's really subtle and goes well together, same as the yuzu flavored one. Really good combinations!
I didn't know what to expect from yuzu flavored matcha but it really goes well together! Would love this matcha to have bigger packagings, because 5 per package really isn't enough haha. Will definitely repurchase!
This matcha has such a nice, smooth nutty flavor and no bitterness. I use it for my latte everyday and it really lives up to my expectations, it's really balanced and creamy. Will repurchase again!
Smooth and creamy matcha with a fresh, earthy aroma.
Gentle bitterness balanced by soft natural sweetness.
Refreshing, calming, and easy to enjoy every day.
Fast and reliable delivery service from the shop.
Very fast delivery, I am more than satisfied. Thank you
I was lucky enough to visit Japan a while back and got to taste local Japanese tea, the taste of gyokuro brought me back to Japan again. The tea itself has great taste without much bitterness, the low price is also a big plus.
Highly recommended :)
